Who Burnt Down the Reichstag?
The Reichstag Fire:
How a Story of Revenge Became Hitler's Greatest Asset
Amidst all of the mysteries of the Nazi regime in Germany reigning from 1933 to 1945 there is one that often overlooked and not talked much about. That of course being the Reichstag Fire. It was a significant moment for the Nazi movement as the passing of the subsequent 'Reichstag Fire Decree' gave Adolf Hitler the unconditional authority to sidestep democracy and essentially shape Germany as he wished.
For a long time, the Reichstag Fire mystery has lead to one of two perpetrators being named. The Nazis, of course, blamed Martin Van Der Lube who was a Dutch communist with the justification that it was a terrorist attack. The powers that be today blame the fire on the Nazis themselves with the justification that it was done to assume greater power.
I however believe something different. I will state first and foremost that I do not believe Martin Van Der Lube was responsible. However, that does not mean I believe the Nazis were responsible, at least not all of them. Specifically, I believe a specific Nazi was responsible for the fire and that it was ultimately a story of revenge.
Historical Context
As always, I believe it is important to understand the historical context and commonly accepted facts in order for you to understand before I speak of any theories.
